The iPod classic is relatively new, but we still have a whole host of support-related questions filtering into us every so often. If the answer to your question is not on this page, it’s probably because we haven’t heard of it before – but don’t let that stop you from contacting us and we will do our best to get it answered!
How on earth do you open up the iPod classic? What was Apple thinking?
We feel you, dude. The Sixth Generation iPod, also known as the iPod classic, was made to snap together and never be opened again. We really don’t know why Apple decided to make them this way, but they did, and it’s something we all have to live with. We tried using our super-awesome blue iOpener tool on this model and about three tools later and a few cuss words, we realized that the iPod classic was a special breed of iPod.
However, we eventually did find a way to get into them, but we have to use custom tools that really cannot be mass-marketed to the general public, and our staff has to receive special training in order to learn the tricks it take to separate the two halves. What that means for you is that we can’t sell you a kit to change the iPod classic battery by yourself – you have to send it in to us.
