Every once in a while our team needs to kick back and relax. We did just that this past weekend, having a nice dinner on the San Antonio Riverwalk and then drinks at this cool piano bar called ‘Howl at the Moon’. They have these two mirrors up in the front of the bar behind the two piano players where you basically bid on what gets written on the mirrors – a higher bid gets your message removed, but our $40 bid kept ‘ipodjuice.com Rulz’ up there for most of the night! By the way, if you ever go to this bar, be careful when standing on the barstools – the ceiling fans might just get in the way, right Ralph?!

Well it won't be long before we release this cool new external iPhone charger to the public (you will have to scroll down a bit to see it on that page). I have been personally testing this thing out and it is nice: it looks just like an iPhone in that is is thin and black and has rounded corners, too. Plug it into any kind of charger you would normally use for the iPhone and you have a nice package of power at the ready. Look for a press release on this and even a video that shows how this charger works and looks compared to the best product ever invented, the Apple iPhone!

March - in like lithium-ion, out like a logic board, that's what I always say. :-) Hey there, it's me Maxine and I'm the newbie here. I answer phones and the part I like best is when I help customers figure out what kind of iPod they have. We have a page on our site to help folks figure this out (from the Home Page, click on the picture of the iPod with the red question mark [that was my idea, by the way!]), but the page is a bit wordy and nobody reads anyways so i get to help people figure it out. Most likely if the battery is soldered inside like on an iPhone or a nano you have to send us your iPod, because they are too hard to open and replace the battery, but give me a call and i can help you through your options. Thanks for reading my blog entry. P.S. Just in case you are wondering, I'm a big 'Rolling Stones' fan!!! Bye!

So January is coming to a close, and we are seeing a LOT of iPod nano battery replacements these days. We wish we could sell a kit for the iPod nano, but since Apple decided to solder in the battery, the average person doesn't have the skils (or tools, for that matter!) to remove the old stock battery and install the new one. Fortunately, we do have the tools and knowledge and can easily replace your iPod nano battery, usually on the same day that it arrives. The 1st Gen iPod nano in my opinion is perhaps the easiest of the three versions, since the back plate is fairly easy to remove. The 2nd Gen iPod nano, however, is my personal nemesis - we spend about ten minutes on each one JUST to GET to the battery - we've learned that you have to go slow on these guys or else. The new 3rd Gen iPod nano is a REAL challenge, and makes the 2nd Gen nano look easy. We are still working on ways to get into the best way to replace the third generation iPod nano battery without mangling the silver backing, but we are determined to find a way.

Well here we are in 2008 and still replacing batteries in iPods and even doing a few iPod repairs and even some iPhone repairs (man those suckers are tough to open!). But as Apple keeps inventing, we are able to keep up and innovate as well.

We have had some unexpected shipping challenges with one of our carriers over the past few weeks that we have never experienced before in the three plus years that we have been in this business. I made it our number one priority to compensate every customer that was affected by this issue by going way above and beyond to make the situation right. Fortunately, every single one of our customers who was impacted by this issue was very understanding and, in the end, came out way ahead than when the started the process. What a great thing it is that there are more good people in this world than bad!

Hello out there from ipodjuice.com! It feels more like Santa’s workshop these days though, it’s so exciting to see all the orders coming in for Holiday gifts. It’s great to imagine all those people getting back the iPod they thought was a goner as a special surprise. Lots of solar-powered iPod battery chargers on their way to stuff stockings too. Happy Holidays!

I was watching Heroes last night on tv, and thought that although we may not have super powers here, I sometimes feel like a hero in a sense. Our customers are always overjoyed with the idea that instead of having to throw away an iPod, they can just go to us for a brand new battery replacement kit and have it working like new in no time. I can't imagine all the money we've saved our customers over the years due to this fact. We've been swamped lately with iPod battery kits orders and mini iPod battery kits orders, so apparently the word is getting out. Up, up, and away..

Just spoke with reporter Laura Lorek of the San Antonio Express News today to talk about ipodjuice.com and how I started the company. The interview was going great until about halfway through, when a lady walked into our office and asked for a donation to some charity I cannot remember right now. Well, I asked the woman if she could come back later, since I was right in the middle of an interview and, as she was heading out, casually asked, "What exactly do you guys do here?". I told her that we offer iPod battery replacement kits and her eyes widened and she exclaimed, "Oh! My iPod battery died [a while ago] and the Apple store told me I wouldn't get my same iPod back so I ended up having to buy a brand new iPod. If I had just known about you, I could have kept my iPod Video!".

I couldn't believe it and looked incredulously at the reporter, and told her, "You have to believe me that I didn't set this up!". Fortunately, the reporter did believe me and actually ended up interviewing this lady (some of the lady's comments actually made it into the reporters' article on ipod batteries). It is funny how things work out - our interview was rescheduled three times before we finally did it and, if we hadn't made all of those changes, the reporter never would have witnessed this woman's reaction - a reaction that we see first-hand all the time. The interesting thing about all of this is that it really illustrates that so very few people know that there are options like ipodjuice.com out there when their iPod battery gives up the ghost.

Looks like a local reporter from the San Antonio Express News wants to do an interview with the owner of the company and the employees. It's always amazing when people find out that you really can change out your iPod battery - most people never really give it any though at all - not until the battery konks out, that is! Most people I think just hand their dying iPod off to a friend or something and get a new one. But what does the person who gets that iPod do? Well, if they are smart, they will get a fresh ipod battery from us and viola - new iPod and problem solved. I always get a kick out of being able to help customers who aren't sure if they can really do the installation and show them, by watching one of our videos or just talking them through it, that it really is not that hard if you have a good tool and of course detailed instructions like we give. Not sure if we mentioned this before in earlier blog postings but people who use are kits are encouraged to send us their dead ipod battery so we can dispose of it properly so it doesn't end up in some landfill. Take care and hope to talk with you soon via email or phone.

Well, it has been a week since the announcement of the new Apple iPods and we got our hands on a new 80GB iPod classic and a new Third Generation iPod nano right away. And what a disappointment – at least, from a repair shop’s point of view! While the new iPods are beautiful and the interface is fantastic, Apple designed the iPod classic and the 3rd Generation iPod nano with a VERY hard to remove metal backing. In fact, they surrounded the entire edge of both iPods with these sharp, metal clips so that, once the metal backing is affixed at the factory, it is nearly impossible to take the back half off without severely bending the edges of the metal case. I think it’s safe to deduce that Apple intentionally designed the iPods to specifically prevent the units from being opened up; this is a big let down for us and I am sure many other third-party iPod repair companies, not to mention of course the owners of these new models who will eventually need new LCD’s, hard drive, headphone jacks, mainboards, and of course ipod batteries.

We are determined to find a way to open up the iPod classic and the 3rd Gen iPod nano without damaging the back plate so that we can offer high-quality iPod classic battery and third generation iPod nano battery replacement products and services to the public, like we have been doing successfully for the last three years. We will keep you posted with our findings – wish us luck!

I had a chance to play with our new solar-powered iPod battery charger (scroll all the way down to the bottom of this page to see it) this past weekend and boy is it cool (not to mention green as all get out). I was finally able to go camping with my iPod and not have to worry about running out of power the whole time I was there. The solar powered charger is very compact and light, so I hardly even noticed it in my backpack. After a few hours soaking up the rays, I connected it to my Video iPod and it started charging right away. I highly recommend this charger to any serious iPod user who also likes to spend time outdoors.

We have just launched our iPod battery Affiliate Program. This is something that I envisioned doing for a while, but wanted to get our products and services to the point were they are practically foolproof. Well, we are there. I found a great company called eAccountable that is managing our affiliate program for us and we are off to a great start. Now others can experience the fun of selling iPod battery replacement kits and services to the public and see first-hand what a difference an ipodjuice.com battery makes.

Sweet! We just announced that you can now get a new iPhone battery from ipodjuice.com. We can replace your dead or dying iPhone battery for a lot less than what Apple will charge you plus we can do it on the same day your iPhone arrives. And did I mention that your new battery from us will last ten years or you get a new one? Man this is so cool…

No one can say that the team at ipodjuice.com is not fanatical about the new iPhone that just came out today. Three of us were brave (crazy?) enough to stand in line for 20 hours to get our hands on the new iPhone from Apple. And we have to say without a doubt it was worth it. The phone is sleek and the touchscreen is fantastic. Of course we had to open a few up to see how they tick! Keep an eye out soon for iPhone batteries from the leaders in iPod batteries!

It has been a busy few weeks here in the shop – we have just tested a completed a vigorous round of tests on our new 2nd Generation iPod nano batteries and the results were fantastic. Now we will be able to service not only the 1st Generation iPod nano but now the latest model (which, incidentally, is about five times harder to replace the battery! This was a little surprising to us, because up until now it seemed like each time Apple released a new iPod, they have been easier and easier to open and replace the battery. Makes me wonder if the iPhone will be as easy to open as and iPod Video or more challenging like an iPod nano. Time will tell and we will be sure to find out!

Hi! I am Lisa and a proud member of the ipodjuice.com team – been here for almost three years and love it here. I get to talk to tons of nice people and I’ve learned a lot about iPod batteries! For instance, did you know that there are a ton of things you can do to extend the playtime of your new ipodjuice.com battery? I think spending five minutes reading this article and following just a few of the suggestions will be well worth it for you in the end. Bye!

Hello! My name is Anthony Magnabosco and I am the owner of ipodjuice.com. Forgive me for not adding an entry to our JuiceBlog sooner, but we have been very busy around here lately. We have just moved to a new office that is three times the size of our old place – that translates into greater efficiencies and more room for some exciting new products (can you say “iPhone batteries”, anyone?) that will be appearing on our website soon. On behalf of myself and my dedicated staff, thanks for considering ipodjuice.com for your iPod battery replacement needs – we think our products and services exceed anything else out there in the market today, and we’d love to have the chance to prove it to you.

Sometimes when you are having a bad day you get an email from a customer that just cheers you up and helps reinforce that all of our efforts are paying off. So I wanted to share this nice email from Steve in Hammond, IN (Order 21523) who used one of kits to replace the battery in his iPod mini:

"I received my order of a replacement battery and necessary tools yesterday in the mail. As the directions suggested I read them thoroughly then began to proceed through the steps. Each step was clearly described and had photographs as examples. Replacement of the battery in my iPod Mini took me about twenty minutes. Once the replacement was made I charged the battery. What a complete difference having your new battery has made for my iPod! I no longer run out of power after 10 minutes of listening! As long as you take your time, are careful, and have your iPodJuice kit, I believe nearly anyone can change his/her own iPod battery! Thank you for not only a great product but great service, too! ".

It is comments like this one from Steve that keeps me going!
