The IPOD TOUCH has many of the characteristics (and general appearance) of the 1st Generation IPHONE, but it does not have any cell phone functionality. If you have an IPOD TOUCH, the time will comes when the lithium-ion battery inside will eventually stop holding a charge. After receiving my replacement battery, my IPOD started working again before I changed the battery, so I put my replacement battery & kit in a drawer (I figured I'd need it sooner or later).
