The IPOD CLASSIC has a aluminum (not plastic) silver or black front with a metallic silver back. Unfortunately, it is VERY hard to remove the backing from the 80GB, 120GB, and 160GB IPOD CLASSIC without completely mangling it, so in good conscience we are unable to offer a do it yourself battery replacement kit for this model. Fortunately, we have very creative people and developed a way to remove the silver backing from the iPod classic without damaging it in any way. We replace IPOD CLASSIC batteries within a few days after your device arrive and, after it passes rigorous testing, will ship it right back to you. And do not get confused – while the silver IPOD CLASSIC LOOKS similar to the white 5th Generation IPOD VIDEO, they are not the same thing.
