I accidentally ordered the wrong item! What is the best way to return it and get the right one?
No problem. The best way to resolve this situation is to place a brand new order for the correct item(s) right here on our website. In the 'Comments' field, please let us know that you are entering a replacement order. You have 30 days from the date of purchase to return your first order for a refund. Simply mail the ENTIRE KIT (tool(s), battery, instructions) back to the address listed here. If possible, please use the same packaging the your item(s) arrived in, and write 'RETURN - XXXXX' (where the X's are your five-digit Order Number) on the outside of the package. Once received, we will credit the same credit card used during checkout (less the original shipping and handling charge).
Should I remove the white label from the outside of my new battery?
No. Please do not remove the white label from the exterior of your new battery. The label identifies it as an ipodjuice.com battery, should you ever need to replace it.
What if I removed the white label from the outside of my new battery?
If you removed the white label from your new battery, please contact us and we can make arrangements to send you a brand new one at no extra charge. In the meantime, please remove your ipodjuice.com battery from your iPod and place it inside a plastic sandwich bag – if the battery ruptures, the odor is not pleasant!
I've lost my battery installation instructions - where can I get another copy?
No problem. Just contact us and we will be happy send you an electronic copy free of charge. Please include your Order Number in the body of your email, as we only provide electronic copies to customers that have already purchased from us.
The wires on my new battery are thicker than the ones on the original battery and won't fit under the motherboard now. What now?
The wires of your new battery may be a little thicker than your original, stock battery. This is not a problem. We don’t advise trying to get them back under the motherboard. Just bend them around the edge of the hard drive – there *is* room between the outer edge of the hard drive and the white clips – just be careful not to pinch the wires. Don’t place the wires from the battery underneath the hard drive because this can prevent it from laying flat and may cause the hard drive to heat up would could damage your iPod.
I've just installed my battery but the iPod gets warm/hot when I turn it on. Is this normal?
Please turn off your iPod immediately. It's likely that the battery or hard drive is not laying completely flat, which can cause the hard drive to be misaligned inside the device. This misalignment could place excess pressure on the hard drive when the unit is closed back up, which may account for the heat you are feeling.
Please open up your iPod again (following all of the steps and warnings about static electricity as outlined in the instructions) and make sure that the battery cables are not preventing the battery and the hard drive from laying completely flat. Additionally, for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Generation iPods, please ensure that both halves are not overly pressed together.
I've just installed my new battery, but it isn't lasting as long as specified. What's going on?
ipodjuice.com recommends that you fully charge and discharge your battery at least three to four times before achieving maximum performance. Factors that can influence battery playtime include (but are not limited to) backlight use, volume level, navigation frequency, and even the quality of your audio files (as larger files require the player to “read” the hard drive more frequently)
Another tip: After charging your battery and getting the 'Charged' symbol, disconnect your iPod from its power source for a minute and reconnect to give it an extra boost of power. If your iPod battery is still not lasting as long as advertised, please contact us with a detailed description of your issue and your order number.
Please note that 3rd Generation iPods will not charge through your USB port, only via FireWire. The issue stems from the USB cable itself, since a third generation iPod requires a 12v charge, and the USB cable can only carry a 5v charge.
What should I do with my old, original stock battery now that I've installed my new one?
You may send us your old, original stock battery for disposal using a padded mailer (the one that came with your order should work great) or heavy-duty envelope with the appropriate postage to the return address listed on your shipping label. Please do not use a standard envelope to ship the battery to us because it will break free, and all we’ll get is an empty envelope with a hole in it (it happens!). Please include a printout of your order confirmation so that we can let you know once it’s arrived. Afterwards, we will dispose of your battery in an environmentally-responsible manner.
