Apple iPod Repairs are at Hand

"When my ipod died on me, i did not know where to turn. I friend of mine used ipodjuice.com for a battery replacement and was really happy with the results. I called them up and not only got a real person, but a knowledgeable one at that. She helped me troubleshoot my issue, just to make sure is really *was* an iPod in need of service (!!!) and then gave me an idea of what the problem probably was - a bad hard drive. I took the plunge and sent it in and had it back in working order for less than $80 three days later. This is exemplary service in my mind and i highly recommend this company for your ipod repair needs."

Are Apple iPod Repairs Inevitable?

When it comes right down to it, the Apple iPod is a pretty fragile piece of hardware, and can break if you are not too careful.

Fortunately, there are Apple iPod repair companies all over the country that can be employed to help you out if your little white iPod is broken. First, make sure there is a phone number that works and, if you call it, someone actually picks up and answers. Furthermore, make sure that the agent who you talk to is familiar with iPods. Ask them if they can help figure out what kind of iPod you own if you describe it to them - if they get it right, then you probably have someone on the phone that knows what they are talking about. If you get a long silence, it's probably best to look elsewhere.

Alright, so let's assume they are able to i.d. your iPod just by you telling them about how it looks. Cool. Next, give a good description of the issue or issues you are experiencing. Don't be afraid to try and reproduce a specific sound that your iPod is making, no matter how embarrassing that might be!

So try your best to communicate what problem you are having, and then get a suggestion or two from the customer service representative on what they suspect might be the problem.

Be warned that this is only going to be an educated guess. You might be told that you could need a new hard drive, but chances are you will not know for sure what kind of repairs are needed until an ipod technician has a chance to open up the iPod or iPhone and see what might be going on.

Sometimes the repairs can be quite simple and affordable: a dead battery can be disguised as a number of false defects, and popping in a new battery can sometimes fix even the most dire of situations. But if it turns out that your hard drive is dead or the logic board/motherboard has seen better days, then it could be a bit on the high side to repair.

But don't stress - despite popular belief, it is still often cheaper to get your old iPod repaired instead of putting the money towards a new iPod. New iPods can run hundreds of dollars, but the iPod that you've had for a your or two is still good, and most likely has a TON of storage still available on the hard drive for more music.

And if you have decked out your iPod in stickers, jewels, or had it monagrammed, then you are probably more apt to consider a repair instead of junking it for a sleek new model. It is not uncommon for some customers to even have an emotional attachment to an iPod, for a variety of personal reasons. But we won't get into that here.

So if decide to have the iPod repaired, make sure you are getting a brand new part or, if the part is used (these are still good alternatives, by the way), ask for a discount. New parts a generally guaranteed for one year, while used parts can be covered for a shorter period of time. But any legitimate ipod repair service will make you aware of your options right from the start. And if they do no, don't be shy and ask about this right away.

Finally, if the repairs are too high to justify, consider selling the defective iPod to the service company for parts or get it back and put it on an auction site like eBay - you might just be surprised how much you can get for your broken iPod. In the end, it's entirely up to you to choose if you want to get your iPod fixed or investigate other alternatives.

If you DO decide to have the iPod player fixed, when you get it back from the repair company, run it through a series of tests - check to make sure the songs will play, you can hear to music out of both headphones, and the battery charges all the way and holds a charge over several days. And if you REALLY find that you received great service and saved some money, tell your friends - they probably have a non-working iPod sitting around in their house that they can get fixed too.

"My experience with IPODJUICE Apple iPod repair was nothing short of remarkable. They actually received my ipod, installed the battery, and shipped it back to me on the same day. Given my circumstances these folks bent over backwards for me. On top of that........ when I received my package and was worried because it was raining and my fear was that UPS would do their normal front door drop....... they didn't..... but if they did ....it would have been no problem!!!! These folks packaged my ipod up for shipping that could have withstood a dip in the ocean. Double bagged and bubble wrapped and double packaged. You don't see a lot of vendors with this type of committment and customer care. I have already spread the word at work"
