![]() Apple iPod classic Repairs"I dropped my new iPod classic (a gift from my husband) and cracked the screen! So glad I found you - it was fixed before he even noticed it gone - thanks for such an affordable and quick solution. I wish all my transactions were as seamless as this iPod classic repair was. Ten stars!" ![]() Your iPod Classic is Safe With UsYou don't find a lot of reputable companies these days that offer iPod classic repairs, and it is not because they just came out. Or that they, with their new aluminum and glass exterior, are more durable. In fact, the iPod classic (and sometimes called an iClassic [which would actually be incorrect]) is just as fragile inside as is the fifth generation iPod video, its predecessor.
Some people have dubbed the iPod classic the 6th Generation iPod, but that to us just doesn't seem to roll off the tongue as easily. Nevertheless, sixth generation iPod repairs can be done IF you are able to pass the main challenge: getting the silver metal back plate off.
Should be as easy as the fifth generation iPod Video, right? Considering how similar the two models look, we thought so at first too. But five shredded blue iOpener tools later and the silver back was still laughing at our feeble attempts to access its' mac-a-licious interior. What was going on here?
Well, a few bad words and new tools later and we were able to remove the silver back: you see, Apple designed these clips into the inner perimeter of the metal backing, which hold the two halves in place as if they were super-glued together (so THAT is why Apple bought kits from us before the launch of the classic - most likely to see how our iOpener tool held up against such engineering treachery!).
Well, needless to say, we have found a way to open the iPod classic without severely bending the silver case (although every once in a while we mangle one and then have to replace it with a brand new one at our expense). Problem is, the techniques we use are proprietary and also very hard for the average consumer to do, which is why we don't sell a diy kit for customers that just need a new battery or so other kind of iPod classic repair. |
