Note 1: The silver back of the 3rd Generation IPOD NANO is very hard to remove, and therefore gets severely bent when we remove it. But do not worry: we will replace the backing with a shiny brand new one. Just keep in mind that any engraving that you may have, as well as the serial number of your device, will not be printed on the new backing. As a courtesy, we always return the original backing that was on your IPOD NANO (unless you request otherwise) which you can keep as a memento.

Note 2: We strongly recommend that you send your device to us for installation of your new battery, but if you are familiar with soldering, feel up to the challenge, and want to install the new battery yourself, choose Option 1 below and we will send your battery instead of expecting your device to be sent to us for replacement. This tells us that you understand that there will be no tools or instructions with your battery and you want to install the battery yourself. However, if you really do want us to install the battery for you, choose Option 2, 3, or 4 below depending on your needs.

Note 3: If your IPOD NANO boots up into the ‘Contact Support’ or an unhappy face symbol, OR it does not power on even when you connect it to an external power source (e.g. computer, wall outlet charger, docking station, etc.), it is unlikely that a new battery alone with resolve your issue. We are more than happy to install a new battery inside your IPOD NANO to see if that does the trick, but if it doesn’t, we would credit your account for the cost of the battery less half of our labor (because of the de-soldering/soldering involved) and less the full amount of all shipping fees. We always have the option of replacing the logic board inside your IPOD NANO to get you up and running again (with your authorization, of course) if you find yourself in this situation, but keep in mind that these boards start at $100.
